The College of Business is pleased to announce that Jay Syverson, former Vice President of Human Resources at Interelate, will be the guest lecturer on Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in CSU Ostrander Auditorium. All faculty, staff, and students are cordially invited to attend.

Jay Syverson is currently working on starting a private business. He recently retired from Interelate, where he was Vice President of Human Resources, with a focus on continuing to grow Interelate’s best-of-class talent pool in web-delivered analytics. He has over 20 years of experience in executive management, software deliver, recruiting, organizational structure, business development and marketing initiatives. As executive recruiter for Professional Placement Services, Syverson focused on identifying and recruiting candidates in the information systems, sales and marketing, and executive arenas to fulfill emerging technology organizations’ dynamic staffing needs. His prior experience includes responsibility for sales, division profitability, project staffing, system design, development, and release of product implementations of customer management software applications for Fortune 1000 companies.

Syverson earned a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing and finance in 1980 and an MBA in 1983 at MSU. While at MSU, Jay was President of the Marketing Club in 1980 and active in intramural sports. In addition to his involvement on the Alumni Board, Jay supports the Mankato and Twin Cities mentoring programs. Jay and his wife Marilyn are active in their church in Chaska, MN and stay busy with their two children. He is an active supporter of MSU’s music department, where Marilyn earned her music degree in 1985. He is also a past President of the Alumni Association Board.
