April 28, 2009 A spring hello to everyone, A million thanks to all Joanne’s Jaunters! There were 30 of us who walked and many others who contributed to reach over $4,000 from Joanne’s Jaunters for the 2009 ALS Walk. The walk was a huge success, and it was wonderful to be surrounded by so many good people. We had the best weather ever! Alleluia! Jim and I want to say a whole-hearted THANK YOU to all of you who participated in the ALS Walk and/ or supported Joanne’s Jaunters in any way. We are grateful for your love, friendship and ongoing support. Let’s do it all again next year. I plan to still be here! The spring weather has allowed me to get out and about—even to church during Holy Week and Easter. Although every outing requires much energy, I can manage for an hour or two. My breathing is becoming more shallow, and even speaking gets harder all the time. At least, I am still able to speak, and I am most grateful for that. As always, both Jim and I appreciate every day, and we are looking forward to summer. With the help of my care providers, I hope to plant a few flowers and Jim will look after the yard. It is nearly time for him to hunt morel mushrooms. Let’s hope he finds some! We wish everyone a joyful and leisurely summer. Thank you for all the ways you show your love and friendship.
