Happy Easter and Passover season, and happy spring to all!
Although spring is making a very slow entry, we still believe in it! We celebrated Easter twice -- -- the week before with my niece Janice and her family, and then Easter weekend with my niece Sandy, my sister Miriam, our friend Judy, and my brother Ed. I guess I haven’t changed a great deal -- -- I love as many parties as possible! Only trouble is, now they wear me out faster than they used to.
The big event coming up in April is the ALS Walk . . . Check it out . . .
COME . . . join Joanne’s Jaunters (our team name)
for the “Walk To D’Feet ALS” here in Mankato
at West High School
10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19th, 2008
and follow the Red Jacket Trail for three miles.
Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m.
OR, you may register online at: www.alsmn.org (click on “special events”)
The ALS Association is very helpful to us,
and we will appreciate any support you can provide.
If you don’t care to walk but would like to support the ALS Association,
you can send contributions to us to pass along to the Association,
or give a donation online at www.alsmn.org. THANK YOU!
The ALS Association is active in helping persons with ALS
by providing assistive devices and equipment through their
loan closet. That means they give us equipment to use as we need it, such as walkers
and shower chairs, and when we’re finished using it, we return it for others to use.
We have found the organization to be directly supportive and very helpful to us.
You can find photos from last year’s walk by going back to the April 2007 entry. Hope to see you at this year’s walk – if at all possible.
Joanne – and Jim, too!
